The Servicing Department has an opening for a Collections Representative.
The position requires the application of various procedures and knowledge of the business unit’s product(s) and application(s) to be performed in accordance with industry regulatory requirements, and federal and state laws.
Primary responsibilities include Mortgage Loan Servicing functions directly related to mortgage collections for the different types of insured and guaranteed loans in the early stages of delinquency.
These functions are to include constant communication in efforts to resolve the delinquency status of the loan for both first and second mortgages.
Provide clerical support to the Collections Loan Workout Specialist.
Provide customer service support by phone to assist the servicing department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and five years of directly related experience in the collection of loan products, data quality verification, and general office duties or three years in Collections/Loan Workout Representation position at MFA.
Proficient with level I and in the use of Advanced Excel and PowerPoint and data analysis.

• Operate standard office equipment, such as computer keyboards and monitors, copiers, scanners, and telephone
• Use (or learn to use) computer software and systems applicable to the position
• Follow oral and written instructions and procedures
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
• Collect, organize, and interpret data and prepare accurate records
• Compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness
• Verify and maintain accuracy of detailed data and information, detect data errors
• Meet schedules and deadlines of the work unit
• Communicate in English and Spanish effectively orally and in writing
• Maintain well-organized materials, files, systems and tools
• Adapt to changes in work situations and priorities
