The Cook performs a variety of duties as necessary to ensure quality food preparations to meet the nutritional needs of our residents, as well as to provide a quality dining experience.
Candidates must be able to read and write in English, prioritize multiple demands, and always maintain professional courtesy.
Candidates must be flexible regarding scheduling, including evening hours, weekends, and some holidays.
The ideal candidate will have nursing home experience or other dietary background in a healthcare setting.
Among the duties of the Cook are:
* Always respect the rights and dignity of residents.
* Read and follow recipes and prepare food that is appealing and nutritious for residents, guests, and staff.
* Prepare for the following day’s meal.
* Take and record accurate temperatures.
* Know and follow department sanitation and storage procedures.
* Perform routine cleaning assignments.
* Clean up spills and wash equipment so that it is thoroughly clean after each use.
* Properly store equipment and report any equipment breakdown.
*All applicants must have a basic knowledge of speaking, reading, and writing the English language for safety reasons.
