Job Description: This Department of Labor Exempt position is a management lead position responsible for all facets of Training Device’s (TD) Aircraft/Simulator maintenance and operational support.
This position is responsible for coordinating and synchronizing all maintenance and engineering activities associated with the full life-cycle of assigned Training Devices and personnel on the AFSOC ACTS program.
The Maintenance Coordinator will have direct reports and shall support Field Engineer’s, Electronics Maintenance Technician’s and assigned personnel in troubleshooting the most complex and non-recurring TD failures and faults.
They are expected to apply advanced knowledge and experience to solve unusually complex or system problems; those that typically are not able to be solved solely by reference to maintenance manuals or similar documents.
The Maintenance Coordinators will be responsible for management and operational support for training of all assigned technical positions and evaluates their training progression.
Must be capable of planning, organizing, and execution all facets of logistical and maintenance activities required to ensure Training Devices are ready and available for training operations.
At this level, the Maintenance Coordinator shall also be capable of assessing faults and errors and formulating an approach to bring TD’s to a minimal acceptable level to achieve customer training objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs management level tasks to ensure all TD availability objectives are achieved.
Site Activation responsibilities to include hiring, oversight and site support requirements to establish CLS operations at new Sites or activities.
Oversee logistical support tasks such as shipping and receiving, packaging, material control, inventory control, Maintenance and Logistical data entry and other material control duties as assigned.
Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems, those typically solved by properly interpreting maintenance manuals or similar documents.
Assists in the design of minor hardware system modifications and software programs to stay current with aircraft configuration and to improve simulator operability.
Provides technical guidance and training to Field Engineers, Electronic Maintenance Technician’s I, II, & III and assigned employees.
Conducts quality control inspections and inspect maintenance work performed.
Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and document maintenance activities utilizing the logistics management database system.
(Documenting maintenance activities include but is not limited to work order generation and updates, repair action documentation, issuing, returning, and ensuring inventory records are up to date and accurate, and other material control duties as assigned.
) Works with Engineering in regard to non-standard situations.
Recommends changes based on knowledge and past experience.
Uses knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems to interpret advanced technical data.
Interprets and works with computer systems utilizing various and multiple operating systems.
Diagnoses malfunctions of aircraft, simulators, computers and associated equipment, and performs operability/readiness tests and repair.
Applies fundamental troubleshooting procedures in the maintenance of interfaces and peripheral equipment used with computers.
Interprets mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schematics and drawings and makes simplified versions.
Conducts voice communications on phone, inter-phone and radio circuits.
Provides networking and information systems support on training devices and networks.
Required to meet assigned timelines and provide additional information when requested for site operational performance requirements.
Maintains good relations with customers and ensures information flows within company organization.
Implements basic modifications to existing simulators and associated equipment.
Candidate will be highly motivated and driven to deliver an exceptional product to the customer.
Candidate will be part of a high functioning team.
Candidate will represent DRG on site in a professional manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to travel in support of program requirements, and to other locations as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will perform supervisory duties as assigned while reporting to the CLS Manager.
The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for personnel discipline actions and scheduling of personnel to ensure proper support for site operations.
The Maintenance Coordinator appoint a trainer for newly assigned Electronic/Simulator Technicians and maintenance personnel.
The intent of this function is to allow new personnel to train alongside the FE\SL without displacing the existing workforce.
Will be required to support modification teams during training device modifications at the assigned location and other locations as needed.
This support can be expected to include work on weekends when modification teams are on-site.
Will be responsible for supporting unusual program circumstances that may require short-notice response and be required to respond as the primary on-call agent to support unscheduled events.
Education and/or Experience: Associates Degree or higher with equivalent education and/or completion of an advanced civilian or advanced military electronics program.
Five (5) to Ten (10) years’ experience as a Flight Chief, or Field Engineer, or Flight Simulator Maintenance Technician, Leadership Experience or equivalent.
Experienced in troubleshooting complex non-routine problems on aircraft and flight simulation equipment, including digital and analog hardware/software, and motion systems.
Experience in conducting advanced training in troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating critical solid-state equipment.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular technical field.
Proficient in establishing computer-networking systems.
Must be highly skilled in technical writing and presentation skills.
Performs additional duties in support of contract programs such as Electrostatic Discharge, PMEL, HAZMAT, Tools and FOD accountability, Bench Stock, etc.
Related skill areas include technical writing and presentation skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Security + Plus Certification (mandatory), or able to obtain within 6 months.
Security Responsibilities: Compliance with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
Personally responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials, in any form, produced by the incumbent.
Shall be assigned specific responsibility for Information Security by immediate supervisor or department management.
Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
Incumbent shall execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.
Qualifications: Candidate must be able to perform all assigned duties satisfactorily.

Must possess advanced skills necessary to diagnose and isolate malfunctions in electronic systems; align, adjust and calibrate installed training devices; interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schematics.
Must possess advanced skills to perform calibrations, adjustments and tests on electronic equipment; analyze operation, verify discrepancies, isolate malfunctions and replace defective components.
Must be highly proficient in the use of diagnostic programs, interpretation of results to isolate faults.
Must be adept in utilization of program listings to isolate faults and in repair of micro/miniature printed circuit boards, electro/mechanical systems, to include projection display systems, electronic motion control and electronic control loading systems and computer sound systems.
Must be able to perform routine preventive maintenance actions using maintenance cards, work instructions and instructional manuals to perform daily system readiness checks, pre-operational and post-operational checkouts.
Must be able to work in a team environment, or independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to drive a forklift, man-lift, or other support equipment as required and trained and certified to operate.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Must be able to work overtime as required.
Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
Must either have a DoD Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain.
Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.
Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations as needed.
May be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.
Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills: Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.
Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, prices, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
