The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) mission is to deliver nuclear capabilities Warfighters use every day to deter and assure.
AFNWC provides, maintains, and sustains our war-winning nuclear capabilities to ensure operational readiness and effectiveness for assets around the world.
One of these vital assets, conceived in 1979 and operational in 1990, is the Weapon Storage and Security System (WS3), which remains a viable system to support the NATO nuclear deterrence mission.
The Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate mission is to develop, integrate, and sustain air delivered nuclear capabilities for warfighters to employ anywhere in the world at any time in order to deter our adversaries and assure our allies.
As the Center postures itself for a digital transformation, the Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate intends to move forward with the strategic implementation of Digital Engineering from a mission and functional perspective.
We are actively recruiting for a Systems Engineer with an active SECRET security clearance.
This person will be responsible for overseeing the system engineering-related aspects of the contract and shall have demonstrated expertise in engineering concepts and processes.
Essential Job Responsibilities Identify and resolve complex interdisciplinary engineering issues using a systems approach.
Support the research, planning, design, development, testing, and evaluation of electrical/mechanical/ components, systems/subsystems, and products for defense systems.
Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and testing.
Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings in support of design, development, production, integration, and testing.
Analyze complex systems through simulation and/or analysis to recommend component substitutions or redesign solutions.
Document and recommend solutions to electrical/mechanical components, systems, and products.
Identify program problems and assist in establishing solutions and improved processes.
Plan, perform, and direct engineering activities to ensure design, production, and testing conform to design specifications and requirements.
Gather, compile, and maintain technical data (e.
g.
, test results; engineering design changes; engineering drawings; engineering documentation; etc.
).
Collaborate and present to stakeholders and providing engineering analysis and evaluation.
Review and provide inputs to test plans/procedures and reports, technical data packages, and engineering-related program documentation.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors from an ABET accredited college in related field Experience designing, developing, building, analyzing, testing and maintaining mechanical/electrical systems.
Clearance: Must have an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance.

Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
