Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the mid-level Contracts Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This pivotal role entails collaborating closely with the Contracts Officer to strategize and execute acquisitions across a diverse range of products and services.
As a key member of the team, you'll thrive on the intricacies of drafting and refining contracts, showcasing a meticulous eye for detail.
Exceptional communication skills are paramount, coupled with a profound understanding of procurement regulations, contract agreements, and legal terminology.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive cradle-to-grave contract support, encompassing pivotal tasks such as conducting thorough market research, meticulously preparing solicitation documentation (pre/post award), rigorously reviewing proposals for compliance, and crafting precise cost/price evaluation documentation.
Additionally, you will be instrumental in advising on negotiating positions, meticulously reviewing and processing invoices, and contributing to the development of acquisition strategies, including the determination of contract method/type.
Moreover, this role encompasses crucial contract administration duties, including the maintenance of meticulous contract file folders, preparation of contract modifications, and active assistance to the Contracting Officer in overseeing contract performance.
Job Requirements: Skills / Experience Required 10+ year’s relevant DoD work with practical hands-on experience in contracts and subcontract Proficiency in navigating FAR and DFAR requirements, with a proven track record of interfacing with regulatory bodies such as DCAA and DCMA Extensive history of successful collaboration with prime contractors and subcontractors, including the adept development and negotiation of contracts Demonstrated capability to oversee the end-to-end contract process for assigned contracts, liaising effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners Diligently negotiate contract terms and conditions to safeguard Insight's interests, mitigating business risks and optimizing financial outcomes Conduct thorough evaluations and ongoing pricing assessments of government contract proposals to ensure competitiveness and alignment with organizational goals Facilitate seamless interdepartmental communication, orchestrating meetings to swiftly resolve contractual issues and inquiries Generate, review, and maintain precise contract documentation in accordance with company policies and industry standards Provide sound contractual advice and guidance to internal teams, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and regulations Ensure timely review and communication of contract modifications, keeping internal stakeholders informed of changes Secure all necessary approvals prior to contract execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Maintain awareness of logistics objectives and programs to effectively support mission requirements Possess exceptional writing, editing, analytical, and team facilitation skills Exhibit outstanding oral communication and interpersonal abilities Engage confidently with senior Department of Defense officials, government representatives, and defense contractors across all levels Responsively address a diverse range of issues, considering inter-relationships between subject areas and customer requirements, while proactively recommending alternatives Education / Certifications Master’s degree Relevant work experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance Must be a U.

The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
