Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Contracting Specialist L3 position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Contracts Officer plan and manage acquisitions for a variety of products and services in support of contracting efforts.
Ideal contract specialists should enjoy drafting and editing contracts, showing excellent attention to detail abilities.
In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also have in-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements, and legal terminology.
The top candidate be providing cradle-to-grave contract support, such as conducting market research, preparing solicitation documentation (pre /post award), reviewing proposals for compliance, preparing cost/price evaluation documentation, advising on negotiating positions, reviewing and processing invoices; assisting in developing acquisition strategies, including determination of contract method/type; performing contract administration, including, but not limited to maintaining contract file folders and preparing contract modifications; and assisting the Contracting Officer in the oversight of contract performance Job Requirements: Skills / Experience Required 10+ year’s relevant DoD work with practical hands-on experience in contracts and subcontract Knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements and experience working with DCAA and DCMA A deep and successful background collaborating with prime contractors and subcontractors including developing and negotiating contracts Manage contract process on assigned contracts from end-to-end with internal business owners and stakeholders and external partners Ensure contract terms and conditions are negotiated in the best interest of Insight to mitigate business risk, minimize workload requirements, and maximize financial objectives Conduct initial and on-going evaluations and pricing of government contract proposals Facilitate efficient interdepartmental communications; coordinate and lead meetings to promptly resolve outstanding contractual issues, inquiries, and actions Generate, review, and support exact contract documentation within the company policies Exercise good judgment in providing contract interpretations, contractual advice, and guidance to internal business team to ensure compliance with contractual requirements Ensure prompt review of contract modifications and communication of changes and notices to the business team Ensure that all required approvals are obtained prior to submittal of contracts for execution Awareness of logistics goals, objectives, services, and programs to meet mission requirements Strong writing, editing, analytical and team facilitation skills Excellent and oral interpersonal skills Ability to interact with senior department of defense and other government officials as well as defense contractors at all levels Responsive to a wide variety of issues, consider inter-relationships between subject areas and customer requirements and recommend alternatives Education / Certifications Master’s degree Relevant work experience and training may be considered in lieu of a Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance Must be a U.

Citizen.
A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required.

Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen.
The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
