Susan M.
Epperly, Artist + Intuitive ✨ I am currently offering 3 card readings via e-mail for $55.
✨ ❓ "How Does It Work?" ❓ 1) My querents usually first reach out to me via e-mail or text.
💌 e-mail: (reply through Craig's List) text: (512) 809-9397 2) Payment is through Venmo.
💸 3) My querent submits their question to me via e-mail.
💌 Sometimes we engage in some dialogue back and forth to arrive at the most optimal way to phrase the question.
My querent also lets me know whether they would like a "Past / Present / Future" reading or an "Overview / Challenge / Action" reading.
4) Then, I conduct the reading and write up the results into an e-mail.
💌 My querenets find this very helpful as some of them choose to print the reading and read it more than once.
Sometimes reading it from different perspectives, or after having let some time pass, brings insightful new interpretations of the reading.
Doing e-mail readings also allows me to read for querents all over the world, and allows my querents to read and absorb the reading in their own space, at their own pace, and often in a private setting that allows for optimal focus and reflection.
Some querents also choose to share their written reading with another trusted confidant, who may be able to offer additional insights, observations, or interpretations.
💵 "But What Am I Getting For My Money?" 💵 The 3 card readings that I provide are very thorough.
Usually, the e-mail write-up of a 3 card reading will be approximately 12 pages.
(Sometimes slightly shorter, but sometimes even longer.
) This is because I not only explain each card in the spread, but also what it means for it to be in its position in the spread, how it relates to the other cards in the spread, and how the entire narrative of insight pertains to the querent's question.
My querents value my background as a teacher writer and find it immensely helpful that I take a lot of time to explain all aspects of their readings.
🔮 "How Are Your Tarot Readings Unique?" 🔮 As an Intuitive, my preferred oracular method is through a Jungian approach to the Tarot.
Practicing the Tarot from a Jungian perspective means that I apply the psychological principles established by Swiss Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst Carl Jung (1875 - 1961) to the reading of the Tarot.
I am certified as a Jungain Tarot Reader by the global Jungain certification body, Jung Platform.
I am also a Certified Card Reader through Hay House.
I am a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Life Coach, a Certified Hypnotherapist, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science.
All of these certifications and degrees influence my approach to the Tarot.
I also have a long history of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist (fifteen years in private practice), so I bring an empathic, healing, and therapeutic energy to my readings, incorporating principles from Reiki and other energetic modalities of loving-kindness.
As you get to know me, you will discover that one of my guiding principles is the belief that we always have a choice regarding how we respond to hardships (as well as blessings!).
I have a firm belief that we should never let any divinatory modality rob us of our autonomy.
You will also learn that my approach to the Tarot is not “fortune telling,” but rather helping my clients pay attention to and fully inhabit the present moment; take into account the realities of both their inner and outer worlds; consult their own subconscious and intuition, guided by the imagery of the Tarot; and make choices that will help them arrive at the outcome that will serve the highest good for themselves and all involved.
Divination, as it plays a role in my practice, is a means of more fully exploring how the unconscious discloses information and revelations to us.
And, according to Jung’s theories, the unconscious houses the core of who each of us is, “The Self,” where we are actually connected to everyone who does or has ever existed throughout all space and across all time.
This is a mystical and spiritual concept, and it is this component of his work that caused Modern Western Psychology to eventually reject Jung’s work.
All of the inner work that Jung promoted (whether dream analysis, tools of divination, psychological analysis, the creation of art, or other methods) was done in the service of individuation.
Therefore, I implement the use of the Tarot as a means of facilitating or elucidating the process of individuation.
According to Jung, individuation is a process that involves reconciling seemingly opposing or juxtaposed characteristics in one’s own psyche and accepting their co-existence.
The process of individuation can be described as a means by which to become a more whole, complete, and integrated person.
It can serve as a path toward cultivating a more holistically healthy version of “The Self.
” Part of the process of individuation also involves relativizing the Ego, which is necessary if we are to understand the Ego’s role in relation to all of the aspects of the unconscious and all of the components that meet us in the outer world.
The Ego is the “I” complex of our personal identity.
The Ego part of our psyche believes that it is in charge and doesn’t need any help, guidance, or assistance from outside sources, intuition, the Divine, or one’s “higher self.
” The Ego doesn’t value “The Self,” or the information that the subconscious or our inner world can contribute to facilitating decision making, or to the process of individuation.
Consulting an oracular system like the Tarot requires surrendering to non-rational forms of knowledge and decreasing our Ego dominance.
If we are to gain value from consulting the Tarot, we must submit to what Jung called “abaissement du niveau mental,” or suppression of our Ego in a safe environment (in which you very much will be during your Tarot reading).
When we approach the Tarot with a sincere question, we should be open to what the cards bring us; be open to allowing the cards to be an ally; and be open to a non-Egoic determination of experiences.
That is to say that we need to put our Ego aside and accept the messages that the cards are delivering to us from our unconscious mind, our inner world, and that deep part of our psyche called “The Self.
” By consulting the Tarot, then, we are really just consulting ourselves; we are using the Tarot to access information and material that we already know at some deep level, but to which we are not paying attention.
The Tarot simply facilitates the extraction, processing, and utilization of that information and material.
It is also important to know that, also in accordance with Jung’s work, I implement the Tarot as a means of recognizing The Transcendent Function as an ally.
When the subconscious and the conscious mind are at odds and arrive at a stalemate, the Transcendent Function steps in.
The Transcendent Function is that aspect of the psyche that gives rise to symbols.
The Transcendent Function can step in and provide a symbol that can sometimes help resolve the conflict.
The symbols of the Tarot are products of our collective Transcendent Function.
We can tap into this collection of symbols as a kind of short-hand that has been assembled over many generations, and their presentation can help us reconcile opposing ideas and resolve conflicts within ourselves.
Another important concept involved in the way I approach the Tarot is that of synchronicity.
Synchronicity can simply be described as where matter (our outer world) and psyche (our inner world) meet at the point of meaning.
Reading the Tarot, then, is a kind of “evoked synchronicity.
” 💬 "But What Do Your Other Clients Say?" 💬 I hope that you might find it helpful to read what some of my other querents have had to say about their experience with my readings.
