Brycon is hiring motivated, detailed, and safety-orientated Journeyman Level Sheet Metal Workers and Helpers to work with our high-tech semi-conductor team in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Journeyman Level Sheet Metal Worker: * Install, alter, and repair sheet metal products and equipment (e.
g.
, ducts and hoods for HVAC systems), utilizing blueprints, drawings, and work orders * Plan and coordinate tasks and determine material required for work * Prepare and implement equipment based on need, including, but not limited to, power saws, drill presses, hand, and power shears, pan and box brakes, lock formers, cleat benders, and rollers to cut, punch, thread, and form sheet metal * Coordinate and assemble ducts, hoods, and other sheet metal products.
Tasks include, but are not limited to, soldering, and bolting connections, applying insulation as required, and inspecting assemblies and installation for conformance with specifications * Provide direction and technical guidance to less-experienced workers * Other job duties as assigned * Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day)), weekends, and holidays.
Employee will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Sheet Metal Helper: * Assist Sheetmetal journeyman in completing duties as assigned * Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets * Assist with fastening seams and joints with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, and metal drive clips * Ensure company policies and procedures are followed * Become thoroughly familiar with current client(s), company safety policies, and OSHA safety requirements * Assist with layout, measuring, and marking dimensions and reference lines on material * Assist with installing assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casing, rain gutters, and down spouts, in supportive frameworks * Clean and scrape metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping * Pick up scrap from work areas and properly dispose of all scrap material * Hold tape and rods and mark reference points to assist in layouts * Transport prefabricated parts to construction sites for assembly and installation * Maneuver completed units into position for installation * Cleaning tools and equipment * Other job duties as assigned * Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day)), weekends, and holidays.
